Dry Grinding Process for the Preparation of Floor & Wall Tile Bodies

2009
Dry grinding is a highly economic process that nevertheless produces grain in the quality required for the large pieces demanded in the market. In traditional dry grinding processes with rollers mill, clays have to be ground because the moisture must not exceed 4-6 % for further processing. In the special dry grinding process provided by Talleres Joise, clays may have a high level of moisture up to 20 %. The most interesting mill available for this purpose is the pendulum mill. The right choice of both the mill and its size is governed by the upstream production process and the initial moisture of the clays used.
