A RE-EXAMINATION OF THE VENTILATING BRONCHOSCOPE.

SUMMARY The use of the general anesthesia with a ventilating bronchoscope has been reviewed. It has been shown that the technique may be adopted without the purchase of expensive equipment or extensive modification of existing equipment. Values of arterial pH, pCO2, and pO2 have been presented which demonstrate the safety of this technique. Significant details of the technique have been discussed. A brief summary of other techniques, with their advantages and disadvantages, has been presented.
