Linear classification techniques applied to cardiac temporal behavior recognition

1991
The authors suggest and test experimentally a digital processing of cardiac image sequences based on two techniques. Statistical techniques for information compression and enlightening of specific temporal behaviors (Karhunen-Loeve, Fukunaga-Koontz transforms). Behavior analysis of left ventricular for instance allows quantitative evaluation of wall motion abnormalities. Deterministic techniques for evaluation of principal cavities contours and kinetic analysis in regions where cavities are superimposed (perceptron, correlation, positive components, Gram-Schmidt). In these regions classical methods give unsatisfactory clinical results.
