This article focuses on how to establish an effective and open line of communication between a university community and the transportation and parking department. Guidelines for maintaining effective communication are offered, such as : 1) establishing a web site that offers current information and meets users' needs; 2) creating a mass e-mail list (listserv) to disseminate timely information to a select audience; 3) using local media outlets to run news releases, disseminating printed information such as brochures, maps, and handouts; 4) and conducting orientation events to communicate with the university community.
