Immuno-mechanism of anti-tumor effect of proteins (LFP91-3C) from lentinus edodes C91-3 mycelium's fermentation liquid.

Objective To investigate the anti-tumor effect in vivo of protein from lentinus edodes C91-3 mycelium′s fermentation liquid.Method Inbred male and female BALB/C mice were used to create animal model.The mice were randomly divided into NS group,CTX group and LFP91-3C group.The impacts of LFP91-3C on life span and the growth of tumor weight were observed and pathological examination of tumor tissue,NK activity and spleen lymphocyte multiplying rate,serum concentration of IL-2 and IFN-γ in mice bearing tumor were detected.Result LFP91-3C could prolong the life span of mice bearing tumors and inhibit substantial tumor cells.LFP91-3C could also induce apoptosis and enhance immune system to kill cancer cell.LFP91-3C also increased the NK activity,spleen lymphocyte multiplying rate,and serum concentration of IL-2 and IFN-γ.Conclusion The anti-tumor effects of LFP91-3C may be mediated by the host′s immune system.
