Analysis on Approximation Accuracy of Elliptic Curve Contour Machining

In order to select the best approximation method in non-circular curve contours machining.As an example,Mathematical model of elliptic curve contour machining approximation error of arc approximation,linear approximation and approximation processing were established.And the methods how to select the approximation arc's radius was discussed.Approximation errors of different methods were computed by using QBASIC,in the same conditions,and parts were machined.The results show that arc approximation is a non-circular curve contours machining method of high accuracy.
