Contribución a la sedimentologia de la cuenca de Baza

2000
The Baza basin (Betic Range) was occupied by a saline lake between the Turolian and the late Pleistocene. Seven major depositional cycles were identified within this interval. Each cycle starts with a fall on the lake level which permits the expansion of alluvial deposits in the marginal areas of the basin. These deposits are covered by lacustrine ones when the lake level raise. Up to 15 different lacustrine facies have been recognized, divided in two main groups: central and marginal facies. The study of these facies permits to recognize different depositional environments inside the lacustrine system.
