Feasibility Analysis of Nanoparticles Enhanced In-Situ Microwave Thermal Recovery of Shale Oil

2021
In-situ microwave thermal recovery of shale oil has the advantages of high efficiency, rapidity and cleanliness. However, shale oil itself is a weak microwave absorber, and the non-connectivity of the shale oil storage space makes traditional microwave heating effective only in the vicinity of the heat source. In order to expand the range of microwave heating, this paper described the feasibility study on reservoir fissure and the injection of microwave nanoparticles into the fracture to improve the heating performance. We considered different types of nanoparticles and different microwave output powers to compare the heating temperature distribution of shale reservoirs. The results show that the effect of microwave heating shale oil with microwave nanometer absorbent is better than that without microwave nanometer absorbent. The results of our study will help to advance the application of microwave thermal recovery technology in the in-situ extraction of shale oil.
