Streak tube dynamic range

Experimental data are presented that show streak tubes to be shot noise limited. A definition of dynamic range is proposed, which the author believes to be simple and useful. In accordance with this definition and the experimental results, an expression for the dynamic range of a streak tube is developed.© (1992) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
