Surgical and psychological aspects of lower limbs varicose veins

2016
Venous insufficiency is a common, chronic disease, concerning almost half of the population of highly-developed countries. Lately the priority in medicine is to get patients’ satisfaction of treatment and high quality of life. Therefore, some specific-disease questionnaires measuring quality of life have been developed. One of them is VEINS Qol and Sym. No findings about acceptance of illness and anxiety in varicose veins is available too. These variables were investigated by AIS and STAI scales. Some other factors were also concerned: sex, age, BMI, using/not using compression therapy, education. This book will be useful for vascular surgery, phlebologists, clinical psychologists and all medical professionals who want to improve treatment's results in patients with varicose veins.
