A simple model of metallic quantum wells
1987
The metallic quantum wells studied here are formed out of one metallic slab sandwiches between two different semi-infinite metals. The theory is developed on an s band model of simple cubic crystals. The electronic response function is obtained for the first time in closed form for a metallic slab. Its analytic knowledge enables the authors to study easily all the electronic properties of such a system. An application is given here for the localised electronic states within the slab.
