The invention relates to the field of LED chips, in particular to an LED chip capable of emitting light in a required color and a manufacturing method thereof. The LED chip comprises a substrate and an epilayer formed on the substrate, wherein the epilayer comprises N-type semiconductor layers, active layers and P-type semiconductor layers, which are formed on the substrate from the bottom to the top, and is divided into at least two luminescent modules, the active layers of all the luminescent modules are respectively filled with ions containing In and Al elements and having different proportion concentrations, so that the luminous wavelength of each luminescent module can be adjusted, and accordingly, all the luminescent modules emit light in the required color. The LED chip is simple in structure, good in radiating performance and high in luminous efficiency.
