Rethinking on Core Competence

Core competence is the basis of enterprise competence.A business organization without core competence can't really possess competence.This paper begins with analyzing the key competitive elements and advantage,then makes a review about related viewpoints,and then rethinks on the intension of core competence.This paper also analyzes the fundamental characteristics for distinguish core competence and probes into the conduction mechanism exists between core competence and competitive advantage.The author holds that there are four sources that enterprise competitive advantages come from,that are exclusive resources,appropriate production scale,superb competitive capabilities and superior competitive actions.Core competence is a combination of capabilities,which exists within an enterprise and can help to provide exclusive products and services at low cost.There are five characteristics with core competence,such as value,expansion,uniqueness,dynamism and fundamentality.The process that starts from the resources to the core competence then to the competitiveness and finally to the competitive advantage,reflects the conduction routine between the core competence and competitive advantage,and also reflects the value realization process of an enterprise.
