Involuntary eyemovements maketheobservation ofthe ocular fundus onaTVmonitor fatiguing forthephysician, nottomen- tion thepractical impossibility ofmeasuring dynamic phenomena such asthevenouspulse observed inasensible percentage ofpatients. Itis therefore necessary tomeasure andcompensate, fordisplay andanal- ysis, thedisplacement between eachimage inthevideo sequence anda reference one.Thispaperreports theresults ofapreliminary setof registration experiments, carried outonlowquality photographs ofthe ocular fundus obtained without contrast medium. Theresults confirm therobustness ofthechosen approach, phase correlation. Theeffects ofchoices suchascomputer wordlength orraw-data windowing on system performance arealso analyzed.
