Four Cases of Solitary Bone Cyst

1989
Solitary Bone Cyst (S. B. C.), which is classified as a tumorous condition of bone, is comparatively encountered in an ordinal case.Treatment and etiology are not established, so we could have some difficulty for the countermeasure because of the fact that we find many cases in a young generation and the relapse rate is quite high.We have encountered four cases of S. B. C. recently. In two cases out of four, we have analysed Agarose immunoelectrophoresis pattern of bone cyst. As the result, we ascertained that it contains various sorts of component like a serum, as many reports show. Also, as Case 4 shows, we encountered unusual case in which S. B. C. exists in the ilium and the femur. According to the experiment we had, the abnormality of the venous circulation system was implied as the etiology. But we can't explain the case when we find abnormality in a local part.Although curettage and bone grafting, which is not always the best treatment, is the general treatment, we should not undertake with ease.
