The present invention relates to a headlight for illuminating, with a pump radiation source (1) for emitting pump radiation, and a distance therefrom disposed phosphor element (6) for at least partial conversion of the pump radiation in a conversion light, wherein a radiation beam (2) with the pump radiation to a radiation surface (5) of the fluorescent element (6) falls, which go to this excitation at a radiating surface (7) emits a beam (8) with an illumination light, which proportionally contain at least the conversion light, and wherein one of the beams (2, 8) comprises a liquid crystal modulator (4) passes through beamforming.
