The risk factors for primary hepatic carcinoma in Guizhou province:an 1:2 matched case-controlled study

Objective To study the risk factors for primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC)in Guizhou province.Methods An l:2matched case-controlled study was carried out in 150cases with new PHC from June 2011to April 2012in several General Hospitals in Guizhou province,which were matched with gender,age and residence.Both of PHC cases and controls were investigated by questionnaires.Results The multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors for PHC included poor economic situation during the past five years(OR=2.967,95%CI= 1.218-7.227),the family history of PHC(OR=5.364,95%CI=1.437-20.021),preferring intake of alcohol(OR=4.519,95% CI=1.926-10.603),HBsAg-positive(OR=7.298,95% CI=3.16716.817),and HBV DNA≥1×103IU/ml(OR=9.136,95%CI=3.962-21.063).Conclusion The risk factors for PHC in Guizhou province are poor economic status during the past five years,family history of PHC,drinking,HBsAg-positive and HBV DNA≥1×103IU/ml.
