Considering human capital and social networking in human resource: A Study of Health Sector of Surabaya & Malang, Indonesia

The present study has significant in order to provide valuable contributions in the domain of career success for individuals especially in health sector of Indonesia as limited evidences are found on this domain in Indonesia. This research is dealt here and described details in various steps, while keeping in mind the objectives of the research. The current study is quantitative in nature and self-administered questionnaires as the tool of data collection were used. The questionnaire was comprised of socio-demographic profile of respondents including their age, gender, educational attainment and marital status and further followed by questions specifically linked with the key variables of this study like perception regarding career success, human capital and social networking. The unit of analysis are the employees of private health sector organizations in Indonesia included RS Dharmahusada, RS UNAIR, RS Soutomo from Surabaya, Persada Hospital, Muhammadiyah University Malang Hospital and Lavalette General Hospital from Malang. The present study opted simple and cluster random sampling technique. The researcher collected data from 210 cases as sample of the study. Data was analyzed by SPSS v.25 and used for data analysis into descriptive statistics and tabulation. The finding of this study shows that the different factors of human capital such as having professional expertise, accomplishment of new and difficult tasks, getting promotions on the basis of job performance have a significant positive impact on career development.
