2020
Children products have always been concerns for our society, for better products for children are the prerequisites of their healthy development. Therefore, emotional theories are adopted to demonstrate the relationship between children’s affects and product design. Products which arouse positive emotions can prompt children to learn from playing. In this paper, a case study with field research is integrally introduced to identify users’ emotional responses to existing products, user’s concerns and idea generation. Then this paper illustrates product’s three types of stimuli in affective design and analyzes user’s emotion evaluation. The goal of this paper is to illustrate how affective design is applied into children products through a case study. By means of theoretical framework and practical design, conclusions of affective design in the case of toy storage product are generalized.
