[K(18C6)] 2 [Pt(SCN) 4 ](H 2 O): A novel one-dimensional coordination polymer with K-N bonds

Pt(II) 18-crown-6 complex [K( 18C6)h[Pt(SCN)4](H20 ) has been isolated and characteri zed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal structure belongs to monoclinic, space grour P2/ n with cell dimensions, a = 1. 11 16( I), b = 1.2258( I), c = 1.5856( I) nm, ~ = 93.479(9) 0 , V = 2.1 567(3) nm ', Z = 2, R = 0.033 and Rw = 0.051 . In the so lid state, the complex displays a one-dimensional infinite chain of two [K( 18C6)t complex cations and a [Pt(SCN)4f anion bridged by one H20 molecule between adjacent [K( 18C6)] +units.
