A maximum torque control strategy for wound-field flux switching motor drives

2015
In this paper, a maximum torque control strategy for three-phase 24-slots 14-poles outer-rotor dc-excited flux switching motor drive is presented. The machine was designed for traction applications. The mathematical model for the generated torque was analyzed first, and a maximum torque control law was derived based on the model. The motor parameters were found via the finite-element analysis results. In addition to the theoretical analysis, the proposed control strategy was also verified experimentally.
