Design of novel life-flower shaped phased array antenna for 5G mm-wave communications

28 GHz and 38 GHz are important frequencies for 5G mm-Wave communication. In this study, life-flower shape is first designed as an antenna element structure to be used at these frequencies. The antenna element structure shows resonant antenna characteristics at 28 GHz frequency, while it has a wide band structure at 38 GHz frequency. Then, it is applied as a phased array antenna for the 38 GHz frequency, and a high-gain structure suitable for 5G mm-Wave communication is obtained. The radiation patterns of the elements on the phased array antenna at different phase angles are observed.
