Using the computer to develop low-carbon economically alloyed high-strength steels

1989
1. Use of the computer to develop steel compositions is expedient only when methods of mathematical design are employed, i.e., in conducting "active" experiments. 2. Use of methods of mathematical design and the computer made it possible to develop a mathematical model of the relationship between ultimate strength and the composition of type 15Kh3G3MF steel at the required level of resilience. 3. Semiindustrial testing of experimental steel 15Kh3G3MF indicated the principal possibility of its use in lieu of nickel-containing steels.
