2015
Hypertension complicated with metabolic syndrome(MS) is the most common condition in clinical practice, which is resulted from the combination of genetic and environmental factors, and shared the same pathological mechanism. The interaction between the activation of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system(RAAS) and insulin resistance(IR) plays an important role in this progression, finally, leading to a vicious circle.Besides the change of lifestyle, the option of antihypertensive drugs is special in this particular population. In addition to the RASS blocker which was considered as the first choice, calcium channel blocker(CCB) could also be combined in treatment of hypertension with MS, which were recommended both in European and Chinese guidelines.
