Effect of Tank Mix of Anilofos and Metsulfuron on Weed Control in Transplanted Rice

1997
Two years' field studies on weed control in rice were conducted at CCS Haryana Agricultural University Regional Research Station, Kamal during kharif seasons of 1995 and 1996. The dry weight of total weeds following the treatments of butachlor 1500 g/ha, pretilachlor 1000 g/ha and anilofos 400 g/ha were less than the tank mix application of anilofos with 2, 4-D or metsulfuron. Though metsulfuron alone significantly reduced the dry weight of weeds as compared to weedy check but its performance was poor to butachlor, pretilachlor or anilofos applied alone or in mixture. Grain yield of paddy following the treatments of butachlor 1500 g/ha or pretilachlor 1000 g/ha or anilofos 400 g/ha were significantly more than the treatments of metsulfuron or 2, 4-D applied tank mixed with anilofos 200 g/ha or metsulfuron alone.
