Method for separation of x-ray-diffraction spectra for cobalt-ZSM-catalysts
1982
The problem of separating x-ray diffraction spectrum of one of the components from the diffraction spectrum from a mixture, if the spectrum of the remaining components is known, is often encountered in diffraction experimentation. The spectrum separation problem becomes more complex when the mixture spectrum contains a number of overlapping Bragg peaks. The presentation of a method developed to unfold a complex spectrum from a mixture, using Fourier transforms of the spectrums, is the main objective of this manuscript. The cobalt spectrum obtained from a catalyst of 9.5 cobalt on ZSM-5 zeolite using the Fourier unfolding technique is presented. The results obtained in this investigation indicate this technique to be satisfactory in unfolding x-ray diffraction spectrum from a multiphase material. 5 figures, 1 table.
