Fluorescence line narrowing spectroscopy of Eu3+ in TeO2–TiO2–Nb2O5 glass
2009
Abstract In this work we report time-resolved line-narrowed fluorescence spectra of the 5 D 0 → 7 F 0–6 transitions of Eu 3+ -doped 80TeO 2 –5TiO 2 –15Nb 2 O 5 glass obtained at 10 K by using different resonant excitation wavelengths along the 7 F 0 → 5 D 0 transition. The wavelength dependence of the 7 F 1 splitting suggests the existence of a broad distribution of Eu 3+ centres possessing a variety of local field environments. The influence of the local coordination ions on the optical properties of Eu 3+ has been studied by analysing the dependence of the crystal field (CF) parameters on the excitation energy along the 7 F 0 → 5 D 0 transition.
