Effect of the black-hole attack in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

2021
Thanks to the research carried out on communication in VANETs, vehicle networks have become capable of optimizing road traffic, which significantly reduces the number of accidents via the notifications exchanged between vehicles in the proximity. The routing function based on the opportunistic algorithm is a critical element of the vehicle communication system and therefore it will be an ideal target for attacks that could be aimed to prevent alert messages from reaching their destinations, and thus endangering human lives. The Black Hole attack is a major security threat in VANET. The main idea of this paper is focused on the effect of this type of attack in VANET which is using opportunistic routing and store-carry-and-forward algorithm.
