Percepção de estratégias de leitura em LE de alunos universitários

Reading is constituted of different kinds of processes, which goes from recognizing the written input to constructing coherent mental representations of texts. A reading strategy is one of these processes that readers use to comprehend a text in order to deal with the limitations of working memory or to simplify structure parsing. Reading strategies are also adaptations that readers make to deal with different reading situations. A reading purpose can influence the comprehension process and the recall of the text. For this reason, readers modify their reading strategies according to the reading purpose. The objective of this study was to analyze the perception of the use of reading strategies in L2 by university students, considering the purpose that these readers applied to the reading situations. Results have shown that the use of reading strategies increases depending on how demanding is the text,
