Post-Operative Mediastinitis in a Salmonella Carrier
1984
A case of salmonella mediastinitis in a patient who was also a carrier is described following cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. Local contamination was thought to be the mode of infection. Following appropriate antibiotic therapy and closed irrigation of the mediastinum recovery was uneventful.
