A method for producing a hole in a group consisting of a composite component, such as a fiber reinforced plastic part or reinforced with a woven plastic part, is characterized in that the first and second opposing sides having component with its first side on a one iris having pad is supported so that a widening in the axial direction tip is pushed through from the second side of the device coming through the component which optionally comprises a preliminary hole to form the hole or to extend the preliminary hole, and that the iris diaphragm, a smaller outlet opening which accommodates a narrower portion of the tip and rises with increasing penetration of the component by the tip in a larger opening, whereby the component during the hole formation is always supported fully area as possible from the first side. A Lochungshilfsmittel in the form of an iris diaphragm or an appropriate template is also claimed.
