Hubungan Antara Fungsi Kognitif dengan Tingkat Kualitas Hidup Lanjut Usia di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sangkrah Kota Surakarta

A variety of problems faced by someone in the elderly is a natural process as it grows older. Some problems and disorders that often arise or occur in the elderly are declining cognitive function. Declining cognitive function in the elderly usually begins with the decline in memory function and the ability to think that significantly interfere with the daily activities of the elderly. Where the problems are continuing will have an impact on the quality of life of elderly. This research aims to determine the relationship between cognitive function and the level of life quality of elderly in the working area of Surakarta. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach with the population of this study as much as 1550 people. The samples in this study consisted of 94 elderly individuals taken with probability sampling techniques with a proportional sampling of random approaches. The collection of research data with the filling of questionnaires is further analyzed using bivariate analysis with Chi-square test. The results showed that elderly cognitive function was largely in the category of mild disorders (44.7%), and for the quality of elderly life balanced between low life quality levels and high life quality levels (50%). Statistical test results found there is a relationship between cognitive function and the level of life of elderly in the area of the work puskesmas of Surakarta City with a P-value of 0.001. Based on the results of the research is expected to the health workers to be able to provide nursing assistance and motivation to the elderly who have decreased physical function by helping to keep the quality of life good and help to have Good physical ability.
