Pandora box opened--measles unleashed in Pakistan!

In this letter to the editor from medical students at Dow Medical College in Karachi Pakistan the writers point out the recent recurrences of deadly communicable diseases such as polio and measles in Pakistan. Citing the WHO’s records of increases in measles-related case reports and death tolls in recent years statistics point towards the inefficient EPI programs and weak vaccines as the major contributors for resurgence. This letter urges the expansion of the EPI program and ensured access and advocacy of vaccines.
