Preliminary communicationThe reaction of Sn[CH(SiMe3)2]2 with ethyne: formation of (HCC)Sn[CH(SiMe3)2]2(μ-trans-CHCH)Sn[CH-(SiMe3)2]2(CHCH2)

The reaction of Sn[CH(SiMe3)2]2 and ethyne at ambient temperature affords a mixture of products, from which the title compound has been separated and identified by IR, 1H, and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
