Tratamiento de la afecciones palpebrales espasmódicas con toxina botulínica

1991
We studied 25 patients with spasmodic eyelid disease, of which 16 had Essential Blepharospasm and 9 had Hemifacial spasm. They were all treated with local injection of Botulinum Toxin A, with satisfactory results in almost all the cases. The mean capacity degree was 41.76 before treatment and 89.25 after treatment. The mean duration of the relief of spasm was 12.8 weeks. We observed only local, minimal and always transient complications.
