Herzog:A Bridge between Modernism and Postmodernism

Herzog is one of Saul Bellow’s most successful novels,which laid a solid foundation for his winning the Oscar Award of Literature.This paper is intended to prove Herzog is a bridge between Modernism and Postmodernism by comparative study on the thematic and formal transformation of the whole novel based on textual analysis and Gerald Genette’s narratology theories.
