1 Gbit/s CMOS optical receiver with integrated detector operating at 850 nm

We describe the first (to our knowledge) 1 Gb/s operation of a fully integrated CMOS optical receiver made in a standard production 0.35 micron linewidth CMOS process at a wavelength of 850 nm.
