Increased hot-formability and grain-refinement by dynamic recrystallization of ferrite in an in situ TiB2 reinforced steel matrix composite

Abstract It is a challenge to hot-roll TiB2 reinforced steel matrix composite because of strain concentration at the TiB2/matrix interface. In the present study, dynamic recrystallization in ferrite was promoted for the first time to increase the hot-formability and refine the grain size of TiB2 reinforced steel-matrix composite.
