Raman, Far Infrared, and Mössbauer Spectroscopy of CuFeS2 Nanocrystallites

2009
The Raman, far infrared, and Mossbauer spectroscopy and photoluminescence of CuFeS2 nanocrystallites were reported. The vibrational and magnetic properties of CuFeS2 nanocrystallites were much sensitive to size than to shape. A new mode was observed in Raman and far infrared spectra of CuFeS2 nanorods with an average diameter of 30 nm. The emission light of CuFeS2 nanorods was blue. It may originate from the inner shell transition of 3Eg→1A1g in the Cu+. The magnetic transition was observed in CuFeS2 nanocrystallites, which was only observed in the bulk materials at elevated pressure (up to 1.6 GPa).
