Epidemiologic features of hepatitis B in Huizhou in 2004-2008.

Aim To survey the prevalent features of hepatitis B in Huizhou in 2004～2008. Methods Data of HBV infection and prevalence in Huizhou in 2004～2008 were collected and analyzed. Results The incidence of viral hepatitis showed an increasing trend during the years of 2004～2008. There 14 589 hepatitis B cases were reported in 5 years,account for 86% of viral hepatitis. Workers,farmers and business services staff were the main groups infected(56.08%).The ratios of males to females were2.36:1 and the prevalence in the those aged 25-34 yeas was the highest. Conclusion The work of monitoring of hepatitis B be strenghtened and effective control measures be taken to control the pervalence of the disease in Huizhou.
