Dissociation dynamics of core excited iron carbonyl‐nitrosyl

2008
Core excitation of a complex molecule like iron carbonyl nitrosyl allows to show that site selective excitation is not necessarily followed by selective fragmentation, probably due to a fast electronic to vibrational energy conversion. The use of multicoincidence electron/ion/ion technique shows however that fragmentation takes place on a much slower time scale allowing stewise processes to be observed.
