Detection of serum IL-6,sIL-2R and T lymphocyte subsets in older lung cancer patients and its clinic significance

2002
Objective To investigate the activity of IL-6,sIL-2R and Tlymphocyte subsets in older lung cancer patients. Methods Flow cytometric analysis and ELISA were applied to detect T lymphocyte subsets and IL-6,sIL-2R of 60 older patients with lung cancer and 60 healthy controls, and a comparison was made between prechemotherapy and postchemotherapy. Results The levels of IL-6,sIL-2R and CD 8 in older lung cancer patients were significantly higher than that in control, and the levels of CD 3 and CD 4 in older lung cancer patients were lower than that in control (P0.05).The levels of IL-6,sIL-2R and CD 8 in older patients with lung cancer were significantly decreased after the chemotherapy, the levels of CD 3 and CD 4 in older patients with lung cancer were increased slightly after the chemotherapy. Conclusions The combined detection of IL-6,sIL-2R and T lymphocyte subsets can demonstrated the immune function of the older lung cancer patients, and can become objective index that estimate disease prognosis and immune adjustment treatment.
