The present invention provides an organic EL element which exhibits high luminous efficiency and has a long service life, and an organic EL element material able to realize same. Specifically, the organic EL element material is a compound represented by formula (1). (A is a group represented by formula (1-A), and B is a group represented by formula (1-B). In addition, L is a single bond, a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group, or a substituted or unsubstituted heteroarylene group. L bonds to one of R 1 to R 4 in general formula (1-A) and one of R 11 to R 14 in general formula (1-B). ) (Among R a to R d , one pair from among R a and R b , R b and R c , and R c and R d forms a ring structure by directly bonding to the sites denoted by * in formula (1-a), and the remaining groups among R a to R d each independently denote a hydrogen atom or substituent group, or two adjacent groups among R a to R d bond to each other to form a ring structure.
