Breeding report on new red skin pear variety with good quality——‘Hongxiangmi’

Hongxiangmi pear,a promising red skin pear cultivar derived from the cross between Korlas xiangli and Zhengzhou Eli,bred by Zhengzhou fruit research institute,CAAS in 1980.Fruits mature in early September in Henan province.Fruits weigh 235 g on average,with red skin and long egg round shape.The flesh is fine,crisp and juicy,with sweet taste.It contains soluble solids of 13.5%,the total sugar of 10.72%,the total acid of 0.092%,and vitamin C of 5.16 mg·kg-1.The cultivar is highly adaptable to growing conditions,and has high resistance to disease.
