A ATUAÇÃO DO CIRURGIÃO-DENTISTA DENTRO DE UM PROGRMA DE RESIDÊNCIA MULTIPROFISSIONAL EM SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA: DESAFIOS E POTENCIALIDADES

Brazilian Public Health has been structured with the strengthening of Primary Health Care at its core. For a strong and effective system, the training of professionals to work in this area is necessary. Therefore, strategies such as the creation of Multiprofessional Residency in Family Health arise. The purpose of this report is to point out the performance of the dentist within a residency program, pointing out the difficulties and potential of this process. The experience took place in Cascavel´s county, in an existing program, with the involvement of dental professionals, nurses and social workers, whose work locations were Family Health Care Units. The result of this multiprofessional interaction proved to be positive because it allowed residents to develop an amplified view of their actions, improving their individual practices and contributing to the collectivity within the team. Part of this shift was due to the application of the concepts of Permanent Education and Popular Education in Health that promote reflective thinking through problematization. Thus, it can be seen that the Multiprofessional Residency in Family Health contributes to the improvement of the skills of healthcare workers and to the strengthening of Primary Health Care.
