Incidencia de la afección de la articulación temporomandibular en pacientes con enfermedades reumáticas

Introduction: The temporomandibular joint is in turn one of those that is affected in patient with rheumatic illnesses with more frequency, many times it passes in off or it is relegated to a second plane without giving him the real importance that deserves for the affectation that can have in the perception of the quality of the rheumatic patients' life. Objective: To determine the incidence of affectation of the temporomandibular joint in patient with rheumatic affections. Methodology: I study descriptive in 93 patients with diagnostic of rheumatic illnesses assisted in consultation esthomatologis. Results: The age average was of 53.15 years. The biggest gender frequency corresponded to the feminine gender with a 70,97. The time of more frequent evolution was the one understood between 1 and 5 years and the most frequent rheumatic affection it was the arthritis rheumatoid. Conclusions : A high incidence of affectation of the articulation temporomandibular exists in the patients with rheumatic affections, which is increased as it increases the time of evolution of the illness, the arthritis rheumatoid it was the rheumatic affection in which was a bigger percent of affectation of this articulation.
