Autonomous DC-DC Power Conversion Process Control Design and Simulation

This paper presents an autonomous bidirectional DC-DC power controller that provides high efficiency, reliable, fault-tolerant, and intelligent power conversions between a DC source and sink. Real-time sensor data and feedback information are processed inside a single Xilinx Artix-7 field programming logic array (FPGA) chip. The digital controller automatically adjusts gate pulse widths of the power electronic devices to allow proper bidirectional power flow. Based on different applications, preset levels of the source and sink voltage determine the power flow directions autonomously.
