Influence of the Water Quality of Lake Fuxian on Amphibians’ Existence

2009
This study analysed the water sample of 9 sampling points of incoming streams of Lake Fuxian and investigated the amphibian species and their distribution in these streams by collecing 530 samples, which were in 14 species and subjected to 1 order,5 families, and 10 genera. The result shows that the Bufonidae family and Rana(Aquarana) catesbeiana Shaw are distributed in a relatively broad area;Ranidae Gray family is abundant in species, but with a relatively narrow distribution. In the mass, few or even no amphibians are found in severely polluted rivers while in rivers with good water quality and manmade marsh amphibians are abundant not only in quantity but also in species.
