Unraveling Epistemology of Language——Interpretation of Locke’s thought

From the relation between the signifier and the signified,Locke studied and expounded the epistemology in his language philosophy and language theory.He put forward and discussed substantial essence,nominal essence,the relation between simple concept and complicated concept.His further research on designation,meaning of language signi-fier and their functional structures provides epistemological references for contemporary media issues and semiotic sudies.
