Lifetimes of positrons in alkaline earth fluorides

Abstract An empirical model is used to calculate the lifetimes τ 2 in alkaline earth fluorides. The results are analyzed to bring out the importance of the (e + -anion) system in the annihilation of positrons in ionic crystals.
